Head of the Minimally Invasive Gynaecologic Surgery Unit of Centro Hospitalar Universitário in Porto, Portugal. He is also a Professor of Gynaecology at the University of Porto. Pr. Ferreira is the Chairman of YEP-ESGE and Member of the Board of European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE). He is holder of a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery a Medical Education diploma. He is the author of several original articles, book chapters, short communications and Websurg video publications. He lectures in national, regional and international scientific meetings/congresses and, performed live interactive surgery in several countries. He is one of the Head instructors of the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery. He has tutored many training courses on dry/live-tissue lab and cadaver dissection.
Obstetrics/Gynecology Assistant at Hospital Privado de Gaia – Trofa Saúde, Portugal. She holders a fellowship of Gynecological Laparoscopy with Prof. Arnaud Wattiez at IRCAD. She is an invited teacher of Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Porto University and is currently performing a PhD in Medicine at this Faculty. She was elected as member of the Advisory Board of the European Society of Gynecological Endoscopy for the mandate period 2019-2023. She is one of the Head Instructors accredited by the European Academy of Gynecological Surgery for the GESEA Training and Certification Sessions. She has been a member of the Organizing Committee of several training courses on dry lab and animals. She is a member of the Faculty of the Endoscopic Advanced Gynecological Surgery Courses at IRCAD/EITS and of the Diplome d’Endoscopie Operatoire en Ginecologie at CICE, in France. Dr. Maia has performed several lectures and communications at national and international technical and scientific meetings.
